Briefs: Microsoft helps Internet safety education

Microsoft said Thursday it will set up an Internet safety education system together with i-SAFE America, a non-profit Internet safety foundation.

The i-Learn Online system will allow teachers and students to learn how to increase Internet safety and security online.

"Technology brings benefits to millions of people around the world; however, it can also present new safety challenges so we need to equip our children to navigate the online world more safely and securely," Mike Nash, corporate vice president of the security technology unit at Microsoft, said in a news release.

Founded in 1998, i-SAFE has educated more than 1 million students worldwide.
