Estonia citizen extradited to NY in cyber case

A man from Estonia has pleaded not guilty in New York to charges that he conspired in a cyberfraud that affected millions of computers worldwide.

Vladimir Tsastsin (TSAHS'-tsihn) entered the plea Friday through his lawyer in federal court in Manhattan. A prosecutor told a magistrate judge that the man arrived in the United States on Thursday after his extradition from Estonia.

He is charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering, among other crimes. Wearing jeans and a striped shirt, he listened to the court proceeding with help from a Russian translator.

He was arrested a year ago with five other Estonian citizens following a two-year probe by the FBI and Estonian authorities. His lawyer said outside court that his client is eager to deal with the case.
