Iran tests first domestically made nuclear fuel rod
Iran said on Sunday that its scientists have "tested the first nuclear fuel rod produced from uranium ore deposits inside the country," the website of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation said.
"After going through physical checks, it was inserted into the core of the Tehran research reactor in order to study how well it works," the website added.
Iran said last month that it planned to insert domestically produced uranium fuel into the Tehran research reactor, which produces isotopes for medical purposes and currently runs on a nearly depleted stock of nuclear plates bought from Argentina in 1993.
The Tehran reactor requires uranium enriched to 20 percent, a far higher level than that needed for Iran's Russian-built nuclear power plant in Bushehr, on the Gulf coast, which uses Russian fuel that is returned when spent.
The atomic energy organisation did not specify the level of enrichment of the trial fuel rod but Iran's programme to enrich uranium to the higher level has been at the centre of growing Western concerns about the goals of its nuclear programme.
Western governments have expressed fears that Iran's real aim is to develop a capability to enrich uranium to the 90 percent level necessary for a nuclear bomb, an ambition Tehran strongly denies.
Uranium enriched to 20 percent level is normally manufactured into plate, not rod, form for use as fuel.
Western governments nations have expressed scepticism that Iran has the technology to produce plates.
Iran already faces four sets of UN sanctions and additional unilateral Western sanctions imposed over its refusal to heed repeated ultimatums to suspend its uranium enrichment programme.
Ther announcement of the fuel rod test came a day after US President Barack Obama signed into law tough new sanctions targeting Iran's central bank and financial sector.

Who We Are:
"Jan. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said he would use air strikes against Iran unless the country dismantled its nuclear program or allowed inspectors to verify that the work isn't aimed at making a weapon."
What We Do:
"I would be saying to the Iranis, you either open up those facilities, you begin to dismantle them and make them available to inspectors, or we will degrade those facilities through air strikes," Santorum said on NBCs "Meet the Press" program today. "Iran will not get a nuclear weapon under my watch."

Obviously NamVet666 is Pirouette. Did NamVet666 get banned already? Since NamVet666 and Noumenon communicate so effectively over PM and Noumenon felt the need to talk for him, I have to wonder if Noumenon was Pirouette all along. Not sure on that one.

This is a "white elephant" project. They will not be able to scale up high-grade uranium production without going bankrupt. Likewise, their missile program is on a 1950s level. a few satellites for prestige, yes, but not mass produced ICBMs nor the warheads required.

Okay man, you aren't even trying now. Do you have that little self-awareness? Generally, when you are trying to pretend you are someone you are not, you don't use phrases that are uniquely attributable to you.
Also, Pirouette frequently referred to Kochevnik as KomradeKochevnik.
Check one for Noumenon. Also the lack of "$" in "FrankHerbshithead" (i.e. "FrankHerbert$hithead") makes me think Noumenon is actually impersonating Pirouette and hasn't quite mastered his style. Still not sure though.

-I find it hard to lie because I realize how hard it would be to maintain a lie, especially in a community such as this. But for genuinely stupid people this is not a problem as it rarely occurs to them.
Compounding this problem is the unfortunate predicament of some women who developed the affliction of compulsive lying and found it relatively easy because, within the social circles they existed, what they looked like was far more important than what they had to say. And so their lying was tolerated.
We have witnessed recently the tragic results of this:

Their lies become more desperate and transparent. Their pathology often leads to ruined relationships as friends and loved ones can no longer stand to be around them. Their lives become empty and their behavior becomes bizarre. Theiir self-deception causes them to concoct elaborate (for them) fantasy worlds wherein glassy-headed aliens for instance might one day come to rescue them from their self-imposed prison of lies and misery.

RitchieGuy,
Didn't you mean to write "Canada" rather than "USA"? :)
Personally, although I think that Iran still has a long way to go so far as nuclear tech goes, they now have the necessary ICBM tech that is a precursor to what they need to reach us.
I am all for them in harnessing nuclear power for peaceful purposes, but historically they have been worrisome in the region. So, on the other hand, I can see why people around them are worried and why it is that both Israel and the US are also concerned. Iran has stated that they want to wipe Israel off the map and wishes death to America on a pretty regular basis.
Now, I also realize that the US has gotten herself involved in Iranian affairs and angered them over that Shah business, but wishing death on people is a very un-Islamic thing to do, too.
See some of the Ahadith for the reasons why that is.

Peaceful purposes would be a legitimate excuse if that was really happening. But without inspectors examining Iran's nuclear plants, you know there is no safe way to determine what they're really doing. Of course, all of Ahmadinejad's rhetoric could be just that. . .rhetoric. But can we take the chance that he's bluffing? Better to be on the safe side than to get a rude awakening when the ICBMs start flying out of Iran.

There isn't a nation on earth that doesn't have the "right" to develop nuclear weapons. All nations are sovereign, and it is only through treaty that they tie their own hands.
Iran is a signatory nation to the NNPT. To that end it has pledged that while honoring the treaty it will not produce nuclear weapons, and will delay for some time their production should they leave the treaty.

Look, my country is relatively rich one, our GDP per person is much higher than this one of Iranian and we simply have no reason to enrich uranium up to 20 percent. We don't need to develop nuclear weapons for anything to become and stay rich. We even don't need the nuclear weapons for intimidation. The people develop the weapons from the only reason: to use them. The only way, how to prohibit the wars is not to allow the people to make the weapons. If we allow the weapons for criminal regimes, then we must allow them even for those democratic one, and this is simply the way to the hell. The government driven with religious fundamentalists should suffer with consequences, if he escalates the arms race.

'''There is no way that western nations (including Israel), who are clearly more sophisticated in every conceivable way than the dirty rag-head nations,.. will allow these cavemen that govern Iran, to have nukes.
Most nations of the world understand that Iran having nuclear weapons is not a good thing. Only the irrelevant extreme minority, ...the ultra far left in the west, the pseudo-intellectual "radicals", the hate-America fad cult, and or the rag-heads themselves, ...would disagree with this. Which one are you Vendi-tard, all the above?'''
The terms "ragheads" and "towelheads" are indicative of a CULTURE, NOT A RACE. Turbans of whatever shape and size are an ARTICLE OF CLOTHING that is worn on the head by many other religions, not just Muslims. Caucasians in Iran and other countries, Jews in Iran, Asians, Indonesians, black Africans, etc. all wear these "turbans". There is nothing racist about rags or towels. :)

Ghost. . .the man was in the U.S. Navy. He flew F-14s and other aircraft as a Navy officer. Neither you nor I have any idea when, where and why he flew planes in the Navy. He only told me that he flew F-14sd, so I knew by that that he was not drafted into the army. I have accepted it, now why can't you? Do you plan to examine every newcomer's life story? Do you plan to to meet him in some restaurant or library to see what he looks like? He told me in PM that he is not going to open any PMs that may be objectionable. He said that when he contacted Pirouette to find out why he was being called Pirouette by you and FH

Yeah. . .I've noticed that FrankHerbert$hit is so obviously elated at labeling "racist". I wonder now if FH might be a disgruntled black Muslim who is looking to punish Whitey. Same with Howhot. He might be that, plus he definitely is an adult bully. He make a statement in a thread in self-condemnation, and then tries to back pedal for attempting damage control and then attacks Oliver and continuously reports abuse to get Oliver in trouble. We all know that Oliver has some severe issues and most ignore him, but not FrankHerbert$hit. He HAS to have a victim, no matter who it is. And he cannot comprehend simple sentences and paragraphs, so he most often misquotes what was said.

He calls himself a VietNam [sic] veteran even though we assume the bulk of his service was not in the closing days of that war, flying CAS (close air support) for evacuating remnants.
This is all conveyed to us 2nd hand by pirouette who has exhibited a consistant pattern of outrageous fabrications (leaving poor frank in the bush?) in response to expected derision from fellow posters.
Just who might the schizoid persona be here? The ufo glass-headed alien visionary with the imaginary boyfriend perhaps?

Exactly my point. NamVet said he flew F-14s while in the Navy. You don't get drafted into the Navy, so he must have flown other types of aircraft PRIOR to the F-14s being deployed during the Vietnam war. The war was still going on up until the fall of Saigon and people had to be airlifted out by helicopter, while the F-14s and other aircraft were in the process of protecting the evacuation.
The text clearly states, and which Ghost clearly does NOT comprehend, that """ ASIDE FROM THAT the Tomcat did not participate in the Vietnam war.""" That means that, the Tomcat pilots were on a mission to make sure that enemy aircraft did not fly into the evacuation zone. That means that the F-14s were up in the air, GhostTard

I find it amusing that Ghostof$hithead pretends to care about the quality of Physorg, but does not notice all of the inane and rambling posts that others submit in this and other threads. Could Ghost be of a "one-track mind" in his/her obsession and chasing around of the former name of Pirouette?
