Toshiba shows USB mobile LCD monitor

(PhysOrg.com) -- The world is going increasingly mobile. It is all about being able to move, and take your work wherever you need it to go. Of course the flip side of living in the ultra-portable world, is that you have to deal with increasingly smaller and smaller screens. It is the trade off that we have all had to deal with. Those smaller screens are fine, on short term projects, such as checking your email. If you have to do some thing more time consuming however, you may find that the tiny screen will be a hassle. Even with the ability to expand and shrink certain areas of the screen, work flow can still be significantly impacted.
That is why companies are working on monitors that solve this problem. Toshiba has entered the market by offering a USB Mobile LCD Monitor.
You may be wondering how it is more mobile than any other monitor? Well, it does not need an AC adapter, which would keep it tied to the desks and the outlets that keep most monitors from being a truly mobile option. Instead the monitor has a single USB port that will get its power from the PC or device that it is displaying from. Of course, there is an optional AC, so if you end up working in your hotel room you do not have to drain your battery.

The monitor is a 14-inch LCD is capable of HD quality, with the resolution clocking in at 1,366-by-768 with the ability to display roughly 250,000 colors. The monitor is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, and XP based systems only and prices out at $199.99. It is currently on sale.© 2010 PhysOrg.com
