Microsoft Trials Office 2007 on Hotmail

Microsoft integrates Office 2007 functionality into MSN in what it says is a one-day trial.

I was checking my Hotmail account earlier (don't tell my boss!!) and when I logged out, as usual I was navigated to the MSN homepage. But it looked funny--at first I thought it was yet another redesign, but it turns out that MSN just slapped the Office 2007 toolbar up top.

And it's not just an ad, you can actually play around with it, and try out some of the features such as font and picture styles. You can see in the image after the jump, where I changed the shape of the ad on the right side of the screen.

You can also see the variety of fonts just below the toolbar. This is all part of a "live preview" function in Office 2007 where you can see your changes before you actually commit to them.

View enlarged version of the Office 2007 toolbar. You can get a closer look at the font styles here.
