In Brief: Karolinska scientists convicted of fraud

Two scientists at Stockholm's Karolinska Institute have been found guilty of research fraud.

A committee investigating the case returned its finding Wednesday after reviewing research into alternative pain treatments submitted by the accused professor and doctoral student, The Local reported. Investigators said they found flaws in the material when compared with standard practices.

The Swedish Research Council conducted the multi-year review for the institute, which now must determine how to deal with the unidentified researchers.
