Intec to provide Pakistan billing support

Britain's Intec has received a contract to supply billing support systems to Pakistan's leading wireless company.

The $1.5 million contract from Mobilink Pakistan calls for Intec's solutions that will improve Moblink's capabilities to send out invoices to both mobile and fixed-line customers.

Mobilink officials said the improved billing capability was necessary because of the growing number of wireless users in Pakistan and the increasing range of content and services available over wireless.

"Pakistan's telecommunications market is growing in complexity ... hence the need for a billing strategy that can reduce the cost and time associated with accurately reconciling large numbers of inter-operator agreements," explained Mobilink Chief Information Officer Tariq Rashid.

Intec will provide Mobilink with components of its InterconnecT v7 system to handle invoicing involving other operators and the Intec Automated Reconciliation to automatically reconcile aggregate billing among different providers and different accounting systems.
