Briefs: HP to enter China wireless market

Media reports in China Friday said Hewlett Packard was set to enter the Chinese mobile-phone market as early as next week.

The reports attributed to sources claimed that the Hewlett Packard China Company planned to offer a high-end iPAQ HW 6515 Pocket PC at a price of around $750.

While the price was pegged above those of competitors, the move gives HP its first retail presence in the important Chinese wireless market.

There was no immediate confirmation from HP.
