Briefs: EU approves German broadband proposal

The European Commission Friday approved a proposal by German regulators to open up broadband markets.

The Bundesnetzagentur will allow broadband providers, including very high-speed Internet access providers, to enter the market with their own services into the German market.

The regulator had initially proposed to exclude higher-speed access providers from the market.
