Samsung seen boosting foreign phone output

Samsung is seen as needing to increase its mobile phone production in China and Latin America.

An analysis from Hana Securities this week proposed that Samsung must expand its presence overseas in order to better position itself in growing markets for low-and-medium priced cell phones.

"To this end, Samsung should diversify its production base, which currently is located in Korea, to overseas," said the report, which was cited Friday by TelecomsKorea. "Samsung is likely to raise its production ratio in foreign countries including China, Brazil and Mexico."
