September 19, 2005

SBE announced Monday it had developed Voice over Packet gateway modules with the industry's highest density.

Dubbed the dspPTMC-5561, the module can deliver up to 2,304 carrier-grade VoIP channels.

The system's heart is a high-density DSP farm consisting of four, seven or 12 Texas Instruments TNETV3010 DSPs to scale with T1, T3 or OC-3 interfaces.

SBE made the announcement at the VON Expo in Boston.
