Hitachi Software to unveil reform plan

Hitachi Software Engineering will be focusing more on developing information security systems, a Japanese financial daily said Tuesday.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that the company will be announcing a sweeping corporate reform plan on Oct. 1, which will outline its plan to focus on three main areas, namely system development for information connectivity, machinery software, as well as information security.

Hitachi Software will also be establishing a telecom system division, which will have about 650 staff members that will concentrate on developing software related to mobile phones and Internet-protocol phones.
